Holistic Art Therapy

a mind, body & soul approach for women who are ready to create lasting change

nurturing your creative process so you can reclaim your Self

You have been through some tough sh*t in your life, especially as a child. Your way of coping has been to make sure everyone else around you is okay, striving for “perfection,” or putting on a tough exterior. While those ways of coping have served you well, you recently noticed they aren’t working for you anymore. You realize you have been sacrificing your own needs by always taking care of others. Perfectionism has a way of making you feel like you are never enough. Your tough exterior is pushing people away, and you feel alone. You wonder: Where did I go? When do I get to be taken care of? When is it my turn to feel joy? Why don’t I feel like I belong? You know there is a part of you deep within that longs to been seen and remembered. You desire to connect with the expressive part of you that evokes child-like wonder and joy!

Art Therapy is a mind, body and soul approach to rediscovering yourself. Art naturally engages our whole being, which can allow for deep healing and lasting change. Through therapeutic art-making, I will help you process emotions and trauma, build self-awareness and self-confidence, and find the wise part of your soul so that you can come back home to yourself.

Hi, Creative Being.

I’m Leanne.

I’m an Art Therapist, Artist and Nurturer of Creative Expression. I specialize in working with women who feel disconnected from themselves. Through therapeutic art-making, I’ll guide you to reconnect with the essence of your soul, release old patterns that are keeping you stuck and create the life you desire.

My Style:

My approach to counseling is warm, grounded & relational. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the most important piece of our work together. My hope is for you to feel safe and held in therapy with me; this allows for deep healing to transpire.

My approach to Art Therapy is trauma-informed; it means that when appropriate and when my client is ready, I use Art Therapy to work with symptoms of trauma. Working with trauma symptoms can include using art materials to: create safety, develop self-awareness, build tolerance of emotions or transform traumatic experiences. Making art with an emphasis on healing allows for exploration of our inner landscape, uncovering parts of ourselves that are beyond words and creating meaning from our experiences.

I integrate Art Therapy techniques with mindfulness and spirituality, which can include the use of breathwork, intuition, energy awareness, spiritual card decks or astrology. During a typical Art Therapy session, you can expect a blend of deep discussion, mindfulness activities and art-making.

If we decide on the clarity call that we are a good fit to work together, we’ll schedule an intake session. Before we meet, I will have you review my practice documents and provide some information about yourself to help us get started.

We will meet for our intake session where I will get to know more about you and your goals for counseling. Then, we will set up regular 50-minute sessions. I recommend scheduling weekly or bi-weekly meetings to create momentum for healing.
