Postpartum Therapy

rooted support for the body, heart + spirit through the season of motherhood

You are not someone who takes the hard things at face value. You've moved through difficulty before, and somewhere in the moving through, you found something. A shift. A deeper knowing. A version of yourself you couldn't have found any other way.

You expected to find that here, too. Instead, you feel lost in a way that surprises you.

Maybe the anxiety is louder than you anticipated. Maybe there's a grief underneath the love that you haven't had space to touch. Maybe something happened during your birth that hasn't found its way out yet — sitting dormant in your heart. Maybe you're doing everything right and still feel strangely far from yourself, like you're witnessing your life from the outside.

You've probably already looked inward. You've sat with it. You've tried to understand it. And still, something isn't moving.

That's a signal that this particular rite of passage asks for more than solitary reflection.

Postpartum is an underworld journey, a threshold between the woman you were and the woman you're becoming. The disorientation you feel is the nature of the season; no one is meant to cross it alone, and the right support can guide you back home to yourself.

You already know something is asking for your attention. This is where it is safe to bring it.

You know how to do hard things. But you didn't expect postpartum to be the thing that brought you to your knees.

MY APPROACH

There is wisdom in what you're carrying. We’ll explore it together.

Most of my postpartum clients come in having already tried to feel better on their own. They've journaled, researched, pushed through. They're exhausted — not only from taking care of their baby, but from trying to think their way through something that was never meant to be carried alone.

What I've found is that the postpartum period asks to be felt, not solved.

In our sessions, we slow down (which for most postpartum moms feels radical in and of itself) and make contact with what's actually present.

Sometimes that means making art together, letting your hands say what you haven't found words for yet. Sometimes it means working with your body, or getting curious about the parts of you that are struggling most. We move with what's alive for you that day and go from there.

What I care about most is that you leave each session feeling like something actually shifted. Not just understood — moved.

This work honors the cyclical nature of what you're in. Postpartum is a season, a rite of passage, and like all rites of passage, it has its own intelligence. The disorientation, the grief, the losing of yourself — these aren't things to fix. They're part of the crossing. And who you become on the other side is exactly who you were always meant to become.

Nothing you bring in here is too dark, too tender, or too much.

FAQs

  • Postpartum therapy is specialized support for the physical, emotional, and spiritual shifts that come with new motherhood. Unlike general talk therapy, we work with your whole self — your body, your nervous system, and the parts of you that words alone can't always reach.

  • Contrary to what the medical systems and society leads on, postpartum is not just the first few weeks post birth. It's a season, and for many women it extends well into the first two years. You don't need to newly postpartum to work with me. I support women at every stage of the motherhood journey.

  • If you're feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, anxious, or unlike yourself — that's enough. You don't need a diagnosis to deserve support. Many of my clients come in simply knowing that something is off and that they don't want to keep carrying it alone.

  • Sessions are $185 for 50 minutes. Many clients use out-of-network benefits or HSA/FSA funds to pay for therapy. You can check your benefits [here].

Most women find this investment ripples into every part of their lives, including their relationships, sense of self, and capacity to show up for what matters.

  • Yes, especially when it goes beyond talking. Art therapy, somatic work, and IFS-informed therapy reach the places that insight and conversation alone can't. My clients don't just understand their experience better. Their experience of life actually starts to shift.

  • Look for someone who specializes in perinatal mental health, not a generalist who occasionally sees new moms. You want a therapist who understands the hormonal, relational, and identity-level shifts of postpartum, and whose approach goes deeper than symptom management.
